Content Creator and Social Media Administrator

Blueprint is a pillar of the Vancouver nightlife industry, operating as owners and promoters of some of the largest clubs and festivals in the city. From October 2015 to February 2020, I worked as an events photographer, live social media presence, and assisted in the management of social media accounts. I covered a variety of events, from local trivia nights to touring artists. This experience taught me a competency in social media management and content creation in a fast paced and high pressure environment.

SOCIAL

DRIVEN

CONTENT

The main focus of my work with Blueprint was to provide live content with a focus on creating eye-catching content to attract potential patrons to Blueprints venues. At this time, Instagram and Snapchat Stories were very effective, as well as re-shared photo content.

During my time with Blueprint, my core competency was as a photographer; however, I adapted to create hybrid pieces of content in the form of Instagram Boomerangs, which merged my photographic skills and light motion which proved to be very effective.

COMPELLING WORK

IN CHALLENGING

ENVIRONMENTS

The nightlife environment has traditionally posed a number of challenges for creatives: inconsistent or lack of light, rowdy patrons, and very short turnaround times. By providing my own light sources or challenging my photographic style, I have been able to overcome difficult circumstances to create a product that I am not only proud of but also one that captures a genuine reflection of the night.

A PERSONALIZED

APPROACH

Photo content in nightlife has always carried low expectations, often being impersonal and low quality. I believe that a personal and consumer-focused approach to creative work is always the answer. Breaking away from low expectations and delivering work that everyone is proud of is always my goal.
